Now Hiring: Director Of Business Development

Primary is seeking a mid-to-senior level Biz Dev Pro to join our growing marketing communications agency located in Haverhill, MA. To succeed in this role, you should know the New England market and be able to leverage a wide network of business relationships in and around metro Boston, North Shore and the Merrimack Valley. Experience in other regions may be of value but starting local would be ideal. You will work closely with Primary’s executive team to strategically grow and diversify our client roster in appropriate industries by selling Primary’s full suite of creative services (e.g. Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Integrated Advertising Campaigns, Websites, Digital Experiences, Social Media, 3D Visualization). You must be a self-starter and strategic team player who has a solid understanding of the marketing and advertising business, particularly within an agency setting. You’ll be responsible for generating new sales leads and revenue by responding to RFPs and identifying opportunities through existing and new business relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Help define and identify target industries and clients
  • Identify ways Primary can hone our offering to meet market demands
  • Reach out and introduce Primary to appropriate prospects
  • Attend and participate in introductory/pitch meetings
  • Manage new business process for Agency
  • Write proposals and budget development of services
  • Experience and understanding of a marketing agency a must
  • Represent Primary at industry events for the purpose of building relationships
Requirements
  • Strong work ethic

  • Strong visual and presentation skills
  • Experience across all marketing platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working at an agency
  • Experience in account management or business development preferred

You are savvy when it comes to the inner workings of an agency and you know the RFP process. You can think on your feet and discuss smart and strategic solutions with prospective clients. You like the chase and are motivated not only by winning new business but also by providing strategic and creative solutions for clients that positively impacts their bottom line.
